MoM insights: In May 2026, the total trade value for imports was $300.51B, reflecting a month-on-month increase of $10.85B (3.74%). Exports, however, saw a decrease, totaling $195.85B, down by $9.82B (-4.78%). For imports, Mexico led with a significant increase of $3.5B (6.94%), followed by China with $3.45B (18.99%), and Malaysia with $1.53B (25.79%). On the downside, Thailand experienced a drop of $2B (-15.42%), France decreased by $1.75B (-26.36%), and Japan fell by $1.12B (-9.02%). In exports, Japan had the highest increase of $1.98B (22.79%), followed by Ireland with $370.58M (22.41%), and Spain with $301.74M (16.5%). Conversely, Switzerland saw a significant decline of $5.52B (-70.57%), Mexico decreased by $2.34B (-6.77%), and Singapore fell by $860.06M (-16.67%).

YoY insights: Year-on-year, imports totaled $300.51B, an increase of $29.83B (11.02%). Exports also rose to $195.85B, up by $19.84B (11.24%). The top five countries for imports included Mexico with $53.93B (17.76%), Chinese Taipei at $23.99B (47.57%), and Canada at $36.09B (21.29%). The lowest performers were Ireland at $5.89B (-55.48%), Netherlands at $2.03B (-45.43%), and Brazil at $3.17B (-24.69%). For exports, Mexico led with $32.18B (17.43%), Japan at $10.65B (54.83%), and South Korea at $8.08B (50.67%). The bottom performers included Switzerland at $2.28B (-72.82%), UAE at $1.43B (-43.33%), and France at $3.7B (-20.29%).
